  Hmm, I'm not sure abt this since I haven't applied myself. But I think it'll be best to apply for next year's cycle since Step 2 is weighted heavily (see ▶ this vid by dirty medicine). And in the meantime you can do more USCEs and research too. That's just my unreliable two cents though
